Autumn Colours...
A Girl Can Dream Can't She

So one of my favorite movies of all time is "The Truth About Cats and Dogs". I think its smart, funny and utterly amazing. But there is a problem.

As anyone who has been reading this for any amount of time knows I have a slight problem with low self esteem. I do not have the money or the resources to seek any type of counseling so I have to resort to the tried and true method of coping.

Letting it eat away at your insides until you are nothing more than a hollowed out shell with an iron heart. Sounds good to me dontcha think.

Anyway back to the movie. I realize now that it is unrealistic. You would be hard pressed to find a guy that would really choose Abby over Uma Thurman. Sorry but witty and fun do not look good in a negligee. No guy sitting on the train glances up at a girl and says "Hey what a great analytical mind on that girl. She must be great at doing lab reports."

Where does that leave the smart unattractive girls that can cook like a son of a gun and knit the potholders too? Sitting at home every weekend stuffing themselves with homemade brownies watching romantic comedies and living vicariously through fictional characters, wishing someone anyonewould notice how great they are. It leaves these girl to be 25 year old virgins, and I do mean virgin in EVERY sense of the word. Sex, kissing, hugging, cuddling, hand holding.

So yes. Its my favorite unrealistic incredibly romantic movie. But a girl can dream can't she?
